Thank you to all the groups and individuals who helped with the Wednesday August 22 clean up of the Clinton River through Depot Park. Thanks to Eric Diesing, Katie Yates & Michael from the Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) for all your work, even before yesterday. They helped the city obtain a grant so that the west bank of the river through Depot Park can be planted with native species, and they staked out the erosion blankets on the river bank. Thanks to the MANY Motor Citizens from FCA (Fiat Chrysler) volunteers who came out to work so hard. They mucked out debris from the river and cleared out the river near the Bart Clark bridge at the south end of the park. Thanks to the members of the Clarkston United Methodist who provided snacks and water to the workers.
Also, thanks to the DPW supervisor, Mike Speagle and his crew for preparing the river bank for the blankets, and for cleaning up behind the volunteers on Wednesday.
