Recent meeting minutes for Council, HDC, Planning Commission and ZBA are not on this web site. An agenda for the February 9 HDC meeting is not available on February 6. It would help the public to have this available and should save office staff time by not having to respond numerous times to requests.

I see on the current website information that some committees have "notes", the Finance Committee says they take no minutes, and some committees have nothing. Although on the agenda, committee reports are rarely made during Council meetings and written reports are never provided. The Facilities Committee is making decisions about what will be bid for a city DPW garage and Village Hall expansion but there is no documentation on how those decisions are made. Can't there be a consistent policy for all committees with their activities reported in writing to the council and public as originally resolved by the Council many years ago?

This could fall under many categories so I thought it best to put it here as a separate initiative. There are many sidewalks and crosswalks in the city that do not meet the accessibility standards of the Michigan Barrier Free Code and ADA. The sidewalk at the parking area south of Rudy's Market is a prime example. The new midblock crossing on Main Street at Church has no curb cut or tactile paving on the east side in the path of travel. There are other areas that have no curb cuts, no tactile paving for those with poor vision, no crossing lines, excessive run and cross slope, and the ongoing problems with raised and cracked sidewalk segments. We have an elderly population, children, veterans and others with disabilities that I'm sure would like to enjoy the village like everyone else. Are there any plans to deal with these conditions? I know there is a Streets and Sidewalks Committee but I have not heard of this being addressed by the Committee, Council or in budgeting.

Who is the Village of Clarkston? The description for the Community Voice says the "Village of Clarkston" reserves the right to remove any comments or suggestions at any time..." and the City of the Village of Clarkston is number 4 on the sidebar with 12 points (compared to my 342) but we have no idea who that is. There is no known policy for removing any comment or suggestion, much in the same way that there is no policy for the city's quasi official Facebook presence. So who is the Village of Clarkston and who is making the decisions? By the way, this web site has been up for a couple of months now and is at best cumbersome and far less than intuitive. Does anyone monitor activity, how many people actually use it or any another statistical analysis of whether it is a burden or benefit to the taxpayers? Just curious since it is never discussed or mentioned by the Council or anyone else.

Traffic is out of control on northbound sashabaw road in the afternoon. McClaren employees all leave around same time and its backed up to the cancer center most days. A signal is needed to allow those drivers out of the complex. Northbound traffic doesnt let people out to turn right. DTE traffic makes it twice as bad. We need traffic light that is similar to the one in front of Pine Knob Elementary...on a specific time frame for operation. We McClaren workers beg you to consider this!
